Wishing he could have done more sooner, Kyle stepped up, just his hand showing in the frame as he placed it on her shoulder. He slowly walked around, sitting down next to her. "You know..." he started out softly. "It's alright to give in."
"I don't want to, Kyle." Alex said, her voice almost inaudible. "If I let her take over... I was lucky to have found my way back last time. I might not get so lucky again." She looked up, eyes full of regret and fear. "Kyle.... you have to do me a favor. Nobody understands this. Everyone thinks this is some... supernatural thing I do to intimidate people. It's not. When Lilith.... when she...." Ugh. Alex still couldn't even talk about what had happened. "It broke something in me. It's like there's another person living in my brain, and when she gets control.... people are going to get hurt. Jenni means well, but she has no idea what she's unleashing by encouraging me here. If I can't find my way back this time... Kyle, you have to stop me. I don't care how, I don't care if you have to cripple me. Please don't let me hurt people."
"But now you have me to hold you from going in too deep," Kyle attempted to reassure her. "I get what Jenni is trying to do, but she's doing it with dollar signs in her eyes. If you become a monster and start winning more, that means more money. This isn't about money, though." Kyle offered a smile, "at least not to me. I just want to see you doing what you love the best that you possibly can."
"Jenni cares about me, Kyle. She does. But nobody gets how broken I am. Nobody." She sighed, staring at the mask. "I don't want to let her out. But Samantha is calling me out, and it's HER she's angry with, so I have to let HER take the punishment."
"I've been watching the whole time and you know... I've been betrayed by someone that I loved, too. It's just been longer, and..." he sighed, shaking his head. "I'm a guy." As soon as the words escaped his lips, he knew how dumb it sounded, yet at the same time, it was true. It wasn't as easy for guys to wear their emotions on their sleeve, but what had happened to Kyle really broke him, as well. "So I don't know... is it possible to let her out, but only enough to do the damage and let me pull you back once the match is over?"

Kyle failed. There was a part of him that knew that he would. He had already lost Kimi and possibly Shelley. Why not Alex, as well?
He was definitely weakened by that blow, but it was enough for him to attempt to actually put up somewhat of an offense. It was too late, though. "Alex, please!" he grabbed her arms. "I know that you're in there somewhere."
After several brutal forearm smashes, she grabbed him by both wrists, preparing for the final blow. She looked him in the eyes, and said only three words: "Alex... Is... DEAD." before absolutely obliterating him with The End, covering him for the pin at 10:31

Part of Kyle died that night. He could see Alex in there. The very same Alex who had pleaded with him weeks before to keep Queen Cthulhu from taking over. She was disappointed in him. He knew that Alex didn't like being so violent. She couldn't control this other side of her. And because Kyle couldn't keep Cthulhu away, she paid the price while Kyle had no choice but to watch.
After the match, Samantha (as she swore to do) rolled her still-recovering opponent over, and removed the woman's demonic mask, before being ushered out of the ring. Once the mask was removed, Cthulhu just laid perfectly still, nearly catatonic, staring up at the ceiling with wide, non-blinking eyes, until Kyle Smalls ran from the back, sliding into the ring to cradle the non-moving girl in his arms, finally lifting her carefully and carrying her to the back.
He had barely left Alex's side since then. He knew that he had a match to prepare for, but he didn't care. It didn't matter who he was facing. They were likely to leave in a stretcher. Kyle had a lot of emotions built up, and thankfully, he knew exactly how to focus them. Richard Dweck and pulled the worst card in the deck. He was going to fall hard. The world was about to see a whole new side of Kyle Smalls, and it was only his first step toward redemption.
He sighed, looking at Alex's currently sleeping body as he took her hand, kissing it. "I love you, Alex. I promise that I'm going to make things better." He got up, stepping away to let her rest.
