Backstage at DPW Genesis...
"I thought that things were supposed to be different here," Kimi Smalls groaned as she punched a wall backstage as she made her way back to the locker room. "It probably wouldn't have ended like that had they booked me to wrestle with Kyle like I'm supposed to," she added in a grumble.
Mary Williams sighed heavily as she came up behind her tag partner for the night, "you're not wrong. I was promised great things, as well."
Kimi shook her head, "that had to be a set-up. We didn't even know each other before the card was announced. Mia and Adri have been together for months. We did great together, but you're not a tag team wrestler. This wasn't fair to you."
"You're not wrong," Mary shrugged. "I went from being the third wheel of the Skillz Vendorz and Owen's girlfriend to just Owen's girlfriend with a promise that I'll be treated more seriously here. I don't know about you, but I'm not seeing it."
Kimi shook her head, "they made the night all about how they want Shelley to be their big name and she's already written wrestling off. She only did tonight as a favor."
Mary laughed, "of course she is. I think her heart left wrestling a long time ago."
"That's what makes it really not fair to us," Kimi nodded. "We've got the pure, raw talent, and we don't question that we are completely, one hundred percent dedicated to wrestling."
"I guess we'll just have to make them see what they're missing out by focusing on the wrong people because I don't know about you, but I do not want to be relegated to a valet for my boyfriend who happens to wrestle on occasion," Mary stated with an emphatic nod. "Fuck that, girl."
"Chris isn't my boyfriend, but I do share in your sentiment," Kimi smiled, leaning against the locker room door, ready to go in and shower off.
"Just keeping it casual?" Mary raised an eyebrow.
"Let's just say he's one of a few," Kimi stated after giving a few moments to word it properly.
"Got it," Mary nodded. "Was it the same way while you were with Stone?"
Kimi smirked, winking at the camera, "I plead the fifth." She nodded before disappearing into the locker room.
Mary looked at the camera and giggled, waving before disappearing into the locker room herself.
